ROC-NY: Help Darden Decide – Low-Road or High-Road?
Where: The Capitol Grille, 155 E. 42nd St., New York, NY
Last week, Capital Grille workers from all over the country attended Darden’s — the Captial Grille’s parent company and the largest full-service dinging corporation in the world — shareholder meeting in Orlando, Florida. They respectfully requested that Darden sit-down and meet with the workers to discuss risky and exploitative company practices, and to explore possible high-road solutions. Darden’s CEO Clarence Otis outright denied their request, and was dismissive of the workers at the same time!
That same day the Restaurant Opportunities Center United (ROC-United) released a groundbreaking report, Darden’s Decision, detailing the low-road employment practices of Darden.
Join the Restaurant Opportunities Center of New York (ROC-NY) as we take action at the Capital Grille, and demand that Darden take workers’ concerns seriously. It is time that Darden ends it’s illegal and exploitative practices. It is time to stop putting profit over people.
Darden has a decision to make. Will it continue to take the low-road? Or will it listen to workers and take the high-road?
It is time for Dignity at Darden!
